Brand Review: Joan’s GF Great Bakes

aswas-logo Company Info: Joan’s GF Greatbakes is a dedicated gluten free facility.  We are also peanut, tree nut and soy free.  We have many products that are dairy and gluten free and some that are gluten, egg and dairy free.

Joan’s English Muffins:

english-muffinsIngredients: GF Flour Blend (Rice Flour, Corn Starch, Tapioca), Water, Sugar, Canola Oil, Gelatin, GF Baking Powder, Egg Replacer (Potato Starch, Tapioca Flour, Calicium Lactate, Calcium Carbonate, Citric Acid, Sodium, Carboxymethlcellulose), Xanthan Gum and Corn Meal.

Company Line:  Our English Muffins have been favorably compared to some of the most well-known national brands! (even those that contain gluten!)

T’s Review: The English muffins are OUTSTANDING—toast up nicely in toaster oven even if they require a bit longer. Don’t expect them to turn brown. Probably one of the best products out there! Now if only each package wasn’t so expensive…..

Joan’s Italian Bread:

Joan's BreadIngredients: Tapioca, Rice Flour, Water, Canola Oil, Yeast, Egg Replacer (Potato Starch, Tapioca Flour, Calicium Lactate, Calcium Carbonate, Citric Acid, Sodium, Carboxymethlcellulose), GF Baking Powder, Salt, Sugar, Xanthan Gum and Sweet Rice Flour.

Company Line:   Joan’s Gluten Free Italian Bread is Crusty and Chewy – its perfect!

D’s Review: The secret to good bread is a great crust.  These rolls come out of the over with a great crunchy crust.  I’ve found that the dough is a little dense and the crust can actually be a little hard to cut.  Tip: Cut them while they are still warm and toast before serving.

T’s Review: The Italian bread is tasty and dense. Toasts well. Did I mention dense? Does NOT reheat well at all. Easy to defrost in the fridge.

Joan’s Egg-Free Bagels:
